Business Terms
For defined projects.
Most of the projects I do are defined in scope: 25 articles, a series of 30 autoresponders, or editing for a 10,000-word e-book, for example. In these cases, I work under the following business terms:
-In most cases, a 50% deposit and a signed letter of agreement are required to start a project. I accept payment via check or Paypal.
-the balance of the project is due after the project is completed.
-copyright reverts to the buyer after the project has been paid in full. Until then, it remains with me.
-Two rounds of revision are included in the bid price.
For ongoing projects.
In the past few years, I've worked on an ongoing basis for clients with large and ever-changing writing needs. Many of my regular clients place orders as needed, and I bill them at the end of the month. If you need an "on-call" writer and don't want to worry about paying piecemeal for each order, these are the business terms I offer:
-An up-front deposit is required for the first month's work for new clients. The amount of the deposit varies by project.
-Clients will be billed on the first business day of the month for the prior month's work. Payment can be made via check or PayPal.
-Clients may ask for up to two rounds of revision for each piece of writing.
-In the event of project cancellation, I will send an invoice for all work completed up until cancellation. I will also return all work completed before that time.
